We woke up in the morning to see rain, it rained off and on morning while the field below was getting setup. When it came time for the ceremony the sky cleared and we were not delayed. My wife's uncle and his band played and sang at it. The leaves on the mountings were starting to change and a new addition to our family was present in a small way. The wedding was nothing fancy but the location was perfect. I still can't believe she married me with the haircut I had. Our family has grown since then, if you have read our other posts you know we have two children, a dog, a cat, and the lucky frog. The two dogs we had then, (Frodo and Ripley) had long life's but are no longer with us. We have had our ups and downs and with kids, both of us finishing college (my wife with two degrees), working and everything else that came our way.
We decided to take our kids up and show them the spot where we were married for a nice trip on our anniversary. The leaves are changing and the weather mirrored that year 12 years ago. I had some dirt work to do on a road that morning so I went early and my wife and kids came later with a picnic. We ate down by the creek where I was working and then we explored. We walked around looked at the mountains, the trees, everything else. We drove to several spots our kids have never seen that are on our ranch. It was nothing fancy for our anniversary but it was like our wedding and perfect for us. Anytime we are out exlporing and enjoying nature it is perfect. Some think we are nuts because we would rather go somewhere can come back with dust, dirt, mud, fish, rocks and anything else we can enjoy rather than go somwhere fancy. Since we have been married we have tried to explore and experience the world around us and share our love of nature and exploring with our children. They go everywhere with us, as does Meeko.
My wife is starting an adventure now. After finishing her second degree we discussed what we wanted and what we could do and make our lives as fun and our own as we could. After exploring our options she took the leap and Kreated her business. Kickassieskreations is up and running and she has been enjoying getting to let her creative side run wild again. She has always made things and been very talented in doing so, but with raising the kids, taking care of the house dogs, college and everything else her time was limited on what she could do. Our kids are both in school so she has time to focus on Kreating amazing bracelets. The cat loves to sit and bat at her string, leather and beads while she works. Meeko is still a pup and likes to run a lot and can make a mess of her work but they both let her work most of the time. She does this while still doing everything around house, inside and out.
It has been twelve years since we were married but it seems so short. We still have many places to wander and explore and will share them as we go.
