Are you tired of the cookie cutter life that everyone wants and expects? I know we have been very frustrated by so many people telling us how we should live and what we need to do to be "NORMAL". What is normal? is it being the same as everyone else, doing the same, working the same? Never seeing anything new outside the little bubble they call life? There are a few in our lives that have tried to see what life has to offer and they are always considered outcasts, misfits, and so on.
What is wrong with following your dream? Trying out new things and different paths that the people you are around have never been daring enough to attempt? Where life begins is where most people get scared to take the leap and see what there is to offer in life. We only get one chance and why not live it to the fullest, and the most adventurous non cookie cutter as we can? Most people think the ones that try new things are different and weird. Well I think the ones that are not afraid to take a chance risk it all and take that path that very few attempt to travel are the ones that really know that this life is all we get and know we need to make the best of the small amount of time we have. In 100 years will anyone remember what any of us have done? Most likely not. Will it matter if the they do? Absolutely not because they don't wear our shoes or travel our path.
So why not step out of the norm that everyone is so accustomed to and try something new. Have an adventure. Even if it is for a summer. Do something that makes you truly happy. If you don't know what makes you happy you may need a longer voyage to find what does make you happy.
I have worked since I was very young. I grew up on ranch and my summers were all work. We did get the one or two times a year we went fishing or had a picnic. But why work all day everyday to just get by? I left the ranch for over a decade to find myself with my wife. The journey was tough and I had to work jobs that most would never think of doing. But it was an adventure. Along the way we had two children. They have helped open my eyes and see that living to work is no way of life at all. We only get once chance at this so why not risk it all to make it the most memorable one we can. We have dove into our lives and are taking every moment we get to try new things and see new places. Money is tight like it is for almost everyone but we do the most we can and take as many trips we can to show our children they don't have to follow the normal routine that society has tried to make us follow and become mindless robots that only live to work.
We have started to work so we can live and work is just a means to an end. We have taking many adventures and trips this summer and have shown our kids that if you are willing to try new things life has so much to offer that one life is not enough to experience it all. So why not take any trip you can, see new places and experience anything you can. Life can be taken so quickly and unexpectedly that you should not fear leaping into the unknown and following your heart to where ever it leads.
My wife has started an online jewelry/bracelet store. She has always loved making things and taking pictures of what she makes in unique spots and making her pictures become a work of art. She has two degrees and the cookie cutter life doesn't fit on our feet well. So we are embarking on a journey of our lifetimes and following our hearts. I hope this post makes you think about what you are doing and if it isn't making you happy do something that does. Life is too short and we only get a small amount of time to make the memories to look back on when we are unable to do what we love.
I have attached several pictures of my wife's "Kreations". I know it is spelled wrong but it is part of her store name. She was texting me at work on day and telling me she wanted more. I asked her what she would do if she could do anything and she said "have a store where I sell stuff I make". So me being the impulsive Gemini I am used part her name and one she uses from time to time and made two sites for her. One is our blog (I seem to post more on here, if my writing doesn't flow it is because I am always thinking of what is next and what else we can do and get distracted) and the other is her store www.kickassieskreations.com, this is where she has let her mind run wild and let her creative side be free. When we take our trips she sees things and says hey this would make a great bracelet. So we stop she gets her stuff out and makes whatever comes to her mind. The kids, myself and Meeko are usually wondering around while she sits and makes something that is special and one of a kind. When she gets done she takes some pictures and we continue on. The smile on her face is one that is seen on few. One that is truly happy in what she is doing and I hope more people would take the leap and try to follow their dreams.
If it happens as planned then it would be called "Adventure".
